Body found at recycling center ID’d as western Pa. man

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A body found at a Manchester Township waste recycling center is that of a western Pennsylvania man.

York County Coroner Pam Gay’s office on Tuesday identified the man as 59-year-old Randall David Rich, who has a last-known address in Butler.

Gay’s office has said Rich likely was dead for at least a few days before his body was discovered in a recycling container Saturday by Penn Waste employees sorting recyclables.

Investigators still don’t know how he died. An autopsy was completed Monday, but the cause and manner of death are pending additional tests that could take up to three months.

Gay’s office initially said authorities were unable to locate Rich’s family. The family was located Tuesday afternoon.
