Lucas Giolito tossed six solid innings as the Harrisburg Senators swept their twin-bill with Richmond on Saturday, winning 3-1 in the night cap. Giolito struck out eight and walked one in moving to 4-2 on the season.
Richmond scored a run in the first on three hits but that was all the run scoring they would do in the game. Giolito settled in and at one point retired nine consecutive batters. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 2.98.
The Senators trailed 1-0 in the top of the fourth when with two outs, Zach Collier hit a two-run home run giving the Senators the lead. They tacked on an insurance run in the sixth when Collier drove in Neftali Soto with a single.
Bryan Harper pitched a 1-2-3 seventh, striking out the side, to record his sixth save on the season.
Soto had three hits in the game with two of them doubles. Collier and Adrian Sanchez had two hits helping to pace the Senators 10-hit attack.
The Senators are now a season-high four games over .500 at 29-25 and go for a second three-game sweep of Richmond (19-37) tomorrow.
Game time on Sunday is at 12:05 p.m. with RH Austen Williams on the hill for the Senators against LH Andrew Suarez for Richmond. The game can be heard on Fox Sports 1460, on the Internet through senatorsbaseball.com, through TuneIn or through iHeart Radio.
