GIANT/MARTIN’S voluntary recall of Great Grains Cereal and Kashi Granola

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Following a recall by Post Consumer Brands and Kashi Company, GIANT Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets announced they are removing Great Grains Protein Blend – Honey, Oats, and Seeds cereal and certain Kashi granola items due to the potential to be contaminated with listeria.

The Great Grains Protein Blend cereal’s UPC is 884912004567 with best when used by codes of AUG1416 to AUG1716; NOV0916 to NOV1216; and FEB1817 to FEB1917.

The Kashi GOLEAN Honey Pecan Baklava Bars’s UPC is 1862710471 with better if used before dates of JUL2116; AUG0716 and SEPT1316.

The Kashi Bear Naked Soft Baked Granola – Cinnamon/Sunflower Butter’s UPC is 88462310163 with better if used before dates of JAN 10 2017 and JAN 11 2017.

There have been no reports of illnesses.

Listeria is a common organism found in nature, but consumption of food contaminated with listeria can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease.

Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to GIANT/MARTIN’S for a full refund.
