HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Road work on the State Street bridge near the state Capitol Complex is once again postponed due to expected rain this weekend.
Crews had planned to pave the roadway over the bridge, officially known as the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Bridge, but put the work on hold until the weekend beginning June 10, according to a PennDOT news release.
The bridge will close Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m. and remain closed until 6 a.m. on Monday, June 13, weather permitting.
This is the fifth weekend that the forecast of rain has postponed the milling and paving operations on the State Street bridge.
Westbound traffic will be detoured to the 13th Street ramp, then right on Cameron Street, left onto Herr Street, and finally left onto Seventh Street.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Seventh, right onto Herr, and right onto 17th.
