YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Northeastern Regional police are investigating after a fisherman said he was assaulted Monday night while on the Susquehanna River.
It happened around 8 p.m. near the 100 block of Gut Road.
Police said the victim, an Etters man, was attacked by three men.
One suspect was arrested while leaving the scene. Another called for help from the river before he was pulled out by rescue crews. He said he and a friend swam out together but got lost.
Rescue crews searched but found no sign of a third person. On Tuesday, that man called authorities and reported he was OK.
The victim received medical attention for facial injuries.
Charges have not yet been filed.
