I-81 reopens after crash near Carlisle

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – A seven-mile section of Interstate 81 in Cumberland County was closed for about three hours Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash.

I-81 North reopened before 5 p.m.

The northbound lanes were closed between Exit 37 for Newville and Exit 44 for the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

The Sentinel of Carlisle reported one person was injured when a pickup truck crashed into the back of tractor-trailer around 1:40 p.m.

No other details were immediately available.
