MANCHESTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A York County superintendent has been suspended after criminal charges were filed against him last year.
On Friday, the Northeastern School Board announced an order from the state order to immediately suspend Shawn Minnich.
In December, Minnich was charged with burglary, reckless endangerment and harassment in connection with a domestic incident, reports say.
Minnich had served with the district since 1996.
The school board released the following statement Friday:
The Northeastern School Board acknowledges that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Professional Standards and Practices Commission entered an order on May 26, 2016, concerning the immediate suspension of the certificates of Dr. Shawn Minnich. Dr. Minnich is no longer performing any duties as superintendent for the school district. The School Board has scheduled a special meeting on June 2nd at 6:30 p.m. in the Administrative Center’s Board Room to formally suspend Dr. Minnich and appoint an acting superintendent. The district remains committed to providing a quality education and all year-end activities will proceed as scheduled.
