SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The hottest days of the year have lined up with this weekend’s PIAA Track & Field Championships.
The midstate is being represented well after the first day of action, which saw medalists awarded in most field events, and the preliminary and semifinal rounds taking place on the track.
Before temps soared, the first event of the day saw Cocalico’s Emily Stauffer win gold in the shot put at 45’3.25″, Stauffer will be going to Missouri for track and field in the fall.
Gettysburg’s Ravaughn Dillard sets personal bests and broke his school record twice en route to first place in the triple jump. On his last flight, he set the new school best at 48’7″.
