The vision for Leg Up Farm began in February 1997, when Louis Castriota, President and CEO of Leg Up Farm, and his wife, Laurie, began plans to construct a therapeutic riding center for children with disabilities, thus merging their love of children and animals with their desire to give back to their community.
“We are serving more than 700 hundred families and we do it in a way where the environment enhances their experience and supports better outcome. Animals, therapy gardens, a greenhouse, Matthew’s Town. All services are wrapped around engaging environments that are motivational and provide opportunities for therapy as well as social and emotional health,” tells Louie Castriota.
