HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A man charged in a fatal drug overdose last year has been sentenced to 15 to 30 months in state prison.
Kevin Caraballo pleaded guilty in court Monday to unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia
Police said Caraballo gave a woman oxycodone pills at a party last June in Steelton.
The victim took several of the pills with alcohol and was found dead the morning after a party. An autopsy determined she died due to a significant amount of alcohol in her system and the Oxycodone.
In court, Senior Deputy District Attorney Jack Canavan said the state was forced to withdraw a charge of drug delivery resulting in death because state law requires the drug provided be the sole cause of death rather than a contributing factor.
