MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A man is facing charges after police say he attacked a person with a machete.
Gabriel Miranda, 27, was jailed on $50,000 bail after Saturday night’s incident outside the Blarney’s Irish Pub along the Carlisle Pike.
Police said the victim, Shawn Urich, tried to break up a fight between two men when Miranda struck his shoulder with the machete. Miranda then struck Urich’s ribcage with the weapon.
Urich was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center where he was treated for a deep tissue wound to his shoulder and other injuries. He is expected to survive.
Miranda is charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He’s also facing two drug-related charges. Police said they found marijuana in his vehicle during the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
