ABC27 wins First Amendment, Joe Snyder awards

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – WHTM-TV’s ABC27 News is proud to announce that we were honored with two prestigious awards for journalism at the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association annual awards banquet.

ABC27 won the First Amendment Award for demanding government transparency. This is the first time the award was available to a Pennsylvania television or radio station.

We also won the coveted Joe Snyder Award for outstanding news service for the second year in a row.

First-place awards recognized ABC27 for Best Newscast, Best Investigative Reporting, Best Spot News Coverage, and Best Continuing Coverage. Amanda St. Hilaire was named Best Anchor/Reporter.

ABC27 also won four second-place awards – for Spot News Coverage, Sports Feature, Weathercast, and Digital Presence – and third-place awards for Investigative Reporting, Enterprise Reporting, Series, and Sports Feature.
