LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Authorities say a Lancaster man charged with stabbing his parents last month is headed to trial.
Daniel E. Frey, 41, faces attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges for the April 8 incident.
Frey reportedly stabbed his 76-year-old father at least nine times in the neck. He then stabbed his 59-year-old stepmother in the hand. It happened at the parents’ home on Winthrop Drive.
The father required emergency surgery. The stepmother suffered deep wounds to her hands.
Two weeks prior, Frey was arrested for slashing the tires of several cars parked along North Pine Street. About $2,800 in damages, to 21 vehicles, was reported. He faces 21 counts of criminal mischief for that incident.
Frey, 41, chose to waive his preliminary hearings. He is in Lancaster County Prison on $775,000 bail.
