HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say a man beaten with a baseball bat ran to a nearby church for help.
It happened Tuesday afternoon in the 1500 block of Derry Street.
Officers were called to the scene for a reported stabbing, but upon arriving learned that the 36-year-old victim had injuries resulting from an attack with an aluminum bat.
The victim told police the assault happened at his home. He went on to say that Luis Manuel-Soto, who resides with him, struck him multiple times with a bat before he was able to run to the church for help.
Church members helped treat the man’s injuries. Police said he suffered injuries to his head, a possible compound fracture to his right forearm, and possible broken fingers.
The victim was transported to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment.
Police are now searching for Manuel-Soto.
