HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg man will serve up to a decade in prison for the sexual abuse of two young girls.
Rafael Ortiz, 28, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts each of rape, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure, unlawful restraint, unlawful contact with minors, corruption of minors and one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
Judge Richard A. Lewis ordered Ortiz to serve 5-to-10 years in state prison followed by a consecutive 10 years of probation.
In court, Ortiz admitted to abusing the girls on multiple occasions when the two were between the ages of 5 and 8-years-old. It happened between the years of 2005 and 2008 when Ortiz was between the ages of 18 and 21-years-old.
Ortiz’s negotiated plea agreement with the district attorney’s office allowed for the girls to not testify in court.
Judge Lewis has also ordered that Ortiz be evaluated to determine if he should be classified as a sexually violent predator under Megan’s Law.
