Shots fired, boy robbed at Harrisburg Mall carnival

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Swatara Township police say they’re increasing their presence at the Harrisburg Mall’s annual Spring Carnival after a shots fired incident and an unrelated robbery Saturday night.

Police said two or three shots were fired into the air after 10 p.m. as an officer was trying to break up a large fight. The officer chased the shooter but could not locate him in the crowd.

The incident happened shortly after a 12-year-old boy reported that three other juveniles jumped and robbed him of 12 dollars and a phone. The victim told police he was able to get his phone back, but a fourth person joined the group and put a handgun to his head.

The four attackers fled in a dark green SUV with a large dent in the rear bumper.

No one was hurt in either incident.
