HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania has 25,000 bridges and around 3,400 are in the Midstate. The state is second in the nation for the most structurally-deficient bridges.

ABC27’s Dawn White worked with PennDOT’s Right-To-Know officer and reviewed dozens of pages about the Midstate’s bridges. Central Pennsylvania has 492 structurally-deficient bridges. Fourteen percent of the area’s bridges are structurally deficient.

We’ll have more on where the deteriorating bridges are and what PennDOT is doing to fix them, new Tuesday on Daybreak.
