Latin Kings leader gets 15 years for trafficking cocaine, heroin in York County

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A leader of the Latin Kings street gang will spend 15 years in prison for trafficking cocaine and heroin in York County.

Daniel Pacheco-Morales, 44, of York, was sentenced last week before U.S. District Court Judge Yvette Kane.

Pacheco-Morales is one of 15 people indicted in 2013 for their leadership roles in the drug trafficking operation. He pleaded guilty in April 2015, then tried to withdraw the plea before his request was denied.

Federal prosecutors said Pennsylvania State Police and the York County Drug Task Force made hundreds of purchases of heroine, cocaine, and crack cocaine from more than 100 people in York during a multi-year investigation into the Latin Kings in York.

Fourteen others who had leadership roles in the street gang have already been sentenced on drug trafficking charges. U.S. Attorney Peter Smith’s office identified them as:

– Angel Mendez-Castro, 27, of York and Puerto Rico, entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to import and distribute kilograms of heroin and cocaine. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

– Christian Mendez-Castro, aka “King Rampage,” 22, of York and Puerto Rico, entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine. He was sentenced to nine years in prison.

– Hector Castro-Padro, 22, of Puerto Rico and York, entered a guilty plea drug trafficking and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. He was sentenced to six years and six months in prison.

– William Ortiz, 53, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On August 21, 2014, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Luis Angel Ortiz, aka “C Lo,” 31, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On April 15, 2014, he was sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison.

– Jose Cartegena Jr., aka “Warrior,” 35, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On April 28, 2014, he was sentenced to five years in prison.

– Marcus Garcia, aka “King Paradise,” 28, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On September 5, 2014, he was sentenced to six years and five months in prison.

– David Ramsey, aka “King Knuckles,” 32, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On December 9, 2014, he was sentenced to five years in prison.

– Carlos Villalongo-Martinez, 38, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On July 29, 2014, he was sentenced to two years in prison.

– Brandon Jones, 27, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On June 3, 2014, he was sentenced to six years in prison.

– Antonio Navarro-Garcia, aka “King Trigger,” 22 of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On November 25, 2014, he was sentenced to five years in prison.

– Michael Enriquez, aka “King Rage,” 30, of Camden, New Jersey, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking. On January 27, 2015, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

– Hector Rengifo, 40, of York, entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking on August 4, 2014. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

– August Ranalli, 31, of York, was convicted of drug trafficking and conspiracy after bench trial. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
