HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster man will spend just over a year in prison for embezzling nearly $100,000 from the bank he managed.
Fernando Sanchez, 42, was sentenced last week to 15 months for embezzling approximately $99,106 from the account of the Manor Shopping Center Merchants Association.
U.S. District Court Judge Edward Smith also ordered 24 months of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Sanchez, a Fulton Bank manager when he took the money between May 2010 and July 2014, wired the money to his account at another financial institution.
Prosecutors said he used the money to pay personal expenses such as credit card bills and to give money to his relatives.
After the fraud was discovered, Sanchez repaid the stolen money and admitted his guilt.
