Lebanon man charged for attacking wife with rifle, brick

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lebanon man is behind bars for allegedly assaulting his wife using a rifle and brick.

The incident happened Wednesday night at a home in the 700 block of Union Street.

Police say 47-year-old Benigno Ayala struck his wife with the butt end of a rifle and hit her on the head with a brick. He also threatened to harm her three young children.

Ayala has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, possessing instruments of crime, and resisting arrest.

He is in Lebanon County Prison on $200,000 bail.
