Tractor-trailer crashes into home in Pequea Township

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say the driver of a tractor-trailer suffered facial injuries after he drove into the side of a home early Monday in Pequea Township.

Emergency crews responded around 3:45 a.m. to the 300 block of Long Lane (Route 741).

According to reports, the driver of a 2011 Honda sedan was attempting to pass a recycling truck when she collided with a tractor-trailer, causing it to go off the roadway. The tractor-trailer struck two parked vehicles before smashing into the corner of a home on Long Lane.

The operator of the tractor-trailer, 35-year-old Kevin Kauffman of Conestoga, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital to be treated for facial lacerations.
The driver of the sedan, 55-year-old Susan Stauffer, was uninjured.

No one inside the home was reportedly injured.

Long Lane was closed for nearly four hours while crews cleared the scene.
