Woman says man threw hammer, attacked her on dog walk in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman told police an unknown man assaulted her as she was walking her dogs Monday morning in Midtown Harrisburg.

The woman said she was in the 1500 block of Green Street when a hammer flew past her around 8:38 a.m. A man wearing gray and black camouflage clothing ran to her, grabbed her by the neck, and threw her to the ground, police said in a news release.

She told officers she began yelling and threw the hammer into the street. She said the man then grabbed the hammer and fled.

She described her attacker as a 6-foot tall, light-skinned black man with a thin to medium build, curly hair about an inch long, clean-shaven, in his 20s, and carrying a dark gray backpack.

Anyone with information should call Dauphin County police dispatch at 717-558-6900 and ask for a city detective.
