Girls, 12, report suspicious activity in Swatara Township

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Swatara Township police are investigating an incident reported Friday by two 12-year-old girls.

The children told officers they were walking on Creek Crossing Drive near Jefferson Street in Rutherford around 4:16 p.m. when a red Jeep pulled up next to them. They said the passenger, a woman in her 40s, yelled, “Hey, little girls, you want to pet a puppy?”

The woman then laughed and the Jeep headed north on Creek Crossing Drive.

Police said the girls never approached the vehicle and had no further description of the Jeep. They said officers drove through the area but could not find a vehicle matching the description.

Anyone with information is asked to call Swatara police at 717-564-2550.
