Harrisburg’s State Street bridge to close over weekend

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The State Street bridge will be closed to all traffic during the last weekend in April.

The bridge just east of the Capitol Complex will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29 and remain closed until 6 a.m. on Monday, May 2, so crews can mill and repave the roadway surface, according to a PennDOT news release.

Westbound traffic will be detoured by way of the 13th Street ramp, then right on Cameron Street, left onto Herr Street, and finally left onto 7th Street.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured by way of 7th Street, right onto Herr Street, and finally right onto 17th Street.

If there’s rain in the forecast, the work will be postponed until the following weekend.
