LANCASTER (WHTM) – The man accused of killing his girlfriend after an argument turned physical in her Millersville University dorm room is set to go on trial.
Gregorio Orrostieta, 20, is facing criminal homicide charges for the death of 18-year-old Karlie Hall. His trial is set to begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Lancaster County Courthouse.
Hall was a freshman at Millersville University when she was killed in February 2015.
Officials say Orrostieta, who was not a student at Millersville, was with Hall at a party the night before her death.
The two reportedly got into a fight and returned to Hall’s dorm room where the fight continued.
Originally, police say Orrostieta told them he shoved Hall, causing her to fall and hit her head, then struck her in the face.
Authorities say they found him trying to administer CPR after calling 911, but they allege that was faked and she had been dead for hours.
According to court documents, Orrostieta later admitted to beating and strangling Hall to death.
