Police: Man cashed counterfeit checks

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A North Carolina man is headed to trial for cashing counterfeit checks.

Garry M. Polk, 48, of Charlotte, cashed multiple counterfeit checks exceeding $5,400 that were drawn from the account of an Upper Allen Township business, police said.

During the investigation, police said they learned Polk was wanted by other law enforcement agencies for similar offenses in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Charges of forgery, theft by deception, and bad checks were bound over to Cumberland County Court during a preliminary hearing on Monday.
