Good Day Gardening: Cool-season Perennials

Although it’s officially spring, in the gardening world it’s still cool season. Today’s GDPA Gardening showcased some of the cool season annuals, perennials and bulbs that are in bloom right now—and explained what the difference is between these three types of plants.

Brooke Umberger of Hershey Gardens joined us with some helpful tips for kicking off gardening season!

“Adding raw, organic matter such as shredded leaves to one’s flower beds is very important this time of year. It improves the soil, adds nutrients, etc. Compost can be made from a previous year’s organic material or purchased at your local garden center,” tells Brooke.
