Sex offender convicted for child pornography

Todd D. Atkinson (Lancaster County District Attorney's Office)

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A convicted child sex offender faces decades in prison for having hundreds of child pornography images while on probation.

Todd D. Atkinson, of Ephrata, was convicted by a Lancaster County jury last week on seven felony counts, according to the district attorney’s office.

Authorities said Atkinson, 47, had more than 500 images and several videos of child pornography on computer storage devices.

He faces a mandatory 25-year prison sentence because it is his second conviction for child sex abuse. He was convicted in 2011 of indecently assaulting a 6-year-old girl.

He will be sentenced after a background check. Under Megan’s Law, he will have to register his whereabouts with police for the rest of his life.
