5 charged with robbing pharmacies in Cumberland, Lancaster, York counties

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A federal grand jury has indicted five Lancaster County residents for robbing CVS and Walgreen pharmacies of prescription painkillers.

Jeremy J. Morant, 24; Bryce C. Butson, 19; Earl C. Owens Jr., 33; Carlos R. Arenas Jr., 33; and Jessica L. Weir, 33; conspired to rob pharmacies in Cumberland, Lancaster, and York counties of Oxycodone, according to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith’s office.

The robberies occurred between December and February.

Smith said the defendants face a maximum penalty of 10 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
