Carlisle has made it the Final Four of a contest seeking the strongest town in America. The website, StrongTowns.org, is hosting the March Madness contest featuring towns across the United States. In this bracket-based competition, voters are casting picks for towns “based on the Strong Towns strength test, as well as general Strong Towns principles.”
Strong Towns staff and board members judged the first round to present a Sweet Sixteen. From there, voters narrowed the field down to the current championship round, pitting Carlisle against Holland, MI. Carlisle has already soared past Truckee, CA and Annapolis, MD to make it to the Final Four. Final voting takes place through March 31 with the winner announced on April 1.
In a Strong Towns podcast, Brenda Landis (Carlisle West Side Neighbors), Chris Varner (Elm Street Manager) and Safronia Perry (Hope Station) discussed Carlisle’s many attributes.
