HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – ABC27 found long lists of restaurant violations in York and Cumberland counties.
Italian Garden in Shippensburg was out of compliance for the second time in one year, this time with 11 violations.
Inspectors say management does not have adequate control of food safety. Industrial machinery grease was used on the food mixer, an operator was in the food prep area without a hair net, and rodent pellets were found near food.
South York Diner was out of compliance with 10 violations.
Inspectors say “the person in charged failed their duties and responsibilities.” The food slicer had food debris dried on the cutting blade, with parts that hadn’t been cleaned or sanitized. There was also grease spillage on the floors and a power tool was stored near food.
Also in York County, Aki Japanese Restaurant was out of compliance with 18 violations
Inspectors say management does not have adequate control of food safety. They found heavy grease residue, dried food residue on utensils, and black residue in the ice machine.
Restaurants with no violations include Asian Special Foods in Lemoyne, Jaymee Lee’s diner in Newville, Rita’s Italian Ice in Carlisle, and Global Cafe in York.
