Police ID man killed in Turnpike crash

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – A Pittsburgh man died when he crashed into the back of a camper trailer Thursday night on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, state police in Newville said.

Police identified the man as 29-year-old Daniel A. Pressley.

Pressley was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage and failed to see the slow moving camper using four-way flashers in the eastbound right lane at mile marker 222.2 in North Middleton Township.

Police said he was driving above the maximum speed limit in the 55 mph construction zone while the camper was traveling below the speed limit at around 45 mph, police said in a news release.

Pressley died at the scene after his car became lodged under the camper.

The driver towing the camper, 59-year-old Marian Panczyszyn of Littleton, Colorado, sustained minor injuries.
