Lower Paxton police investigating cop-impersonation incident

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Lower Paxton police are investigating an incident involving the impersonation of an officer.

On Wednesday night, a woman reported to police that she was pulled over by someone she initially thought was a police officer. The traffic stop happened near Dartmouth and Berkley streets.

The woman went on to explain that a black male wearing a dark blue uniform and driving a dark-colored sedan with red and blue lights approached her window and asked for her license and registration.

When she asked if she could see the man’s badge, he did not provide one, so she drove away.

Anyone with information is asked to call 717-657-5656.

Police are advising residents that officers conducting traffic stops will always carry a visible badge as part of their uniform.
