MANHEIM TOWNSHIP (WHTM) – On Monday, a contractor will begin preparations to make improvements to a part of the Harrisburg Pike near Lancaster.
PennDOT officials say a contractor will add additional turn lanes and install a new traffic signal at the intersection of the Harrisburg Pike, Dillerville Road and North President Avenue in Manheim Township.
More than 20,000 drivers travel this section of the Harrisburg Pike every day.
The work will cause lane shifts with flaggers directing traffic through the intersection on weekdays after 9 a.m. The lane restriction will not impact the morning commute as it will not be done between 6 – 9 a.m.
Later this summer, work will continue overnight for milling and paving.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
As crews work, PennDOT wants to remind motorists to watch for crews, obey work zone signs and to slow down when approaching work zones.
