Wiconisco man gets 3-10 years for church burglaries, restaurant robbery

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Dauphin County man will spend up to 10 years in prison for burglarizing three churches to fund his heroin addiction.

Dakota Boyer, 22, was ordered to serve 3-10 years in state prison last week after pleading guilty to several felony charges, according to the district attorney’s office.

Boyer admitted to September 2015 burglaries at Lykens United Methodist Church and at Wesley United Methodist and Calvary United Methodist churches in Wiconisco Township.

The following week, authorities said he robbed a Dairy Queen in Lykens at knife point.
