Harrisburg man gets life in prison for deadly bar fight

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in connection with a fatal bar fight last year.

John M. McDonald was found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder and carrying a firearm without a license.

McDonald faced criminal homicide charges in the May 9 killing of 22-year-old Todd Dunlap outside the Forever Nights club in the 500 block of South 19th Street.

Dunlap, a father of eight, was struck in the head with a handgun and fatally shot during an argument in inside the nightclub.

McDonald was arrested later that month in Maryland.
