Police: Cut from broken glass linked teens to Dover Township burglary

DOVER, Pa. (WHTM) – Two teenagers were charged with the burglary of a Dover Township business after police say a cut from broken glass connected the pair to the crime.

The 17-year-olds used a brick to break a large window in the 6400 block of Carlisle Road sometime between late Friday and early Saturday. The pair then stole cigarettes, smoking devices, and other items, Northern York County Regional police said.

Investigating officers found at least one burglar had been cut by the broken glass, and calls to local hospitals determined a 17-year-old was treated for cuts to his hand, police said.

Officers recovered evidence that implicated the teens at the hospital and at a home in the 3000 block of Conewago Road.

Both teens were released to their parents after police charged them as juveniles with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief.
