Disability Empowerment Center: ADA Compliance

The Disability Empowerment Center is hosting a series of workshops on Accessibility.  The program is called “Get Empowered.”  Their first work shop is Monday , March 14th held at their Lancaster Office.

“Ramps are often not built to specification in public areas.  Some issues we see a lot are ramps that are too steep, not wide enough and ramps that are blocked by obstacles including the door to get in places!” tells Melissa Hawkins.

“Curb Cuts are another issue we see a lot of problems with.  Prevalent issues are the curb cuts not being absolutely flat, not being wide enough, blocked by obstacles, and oddly enough, curb cuts that lead to nowhere.”
