Man sentenced to life for armed robbery in York

A New York man will serve a life sentence for his role in an armed robbery in 2012 at a York jewelry story.

Judge William W. Caldwell sentenced Jesse Brewer, 41, to life imprisonment plus 20 years.

Authorities said Brewer and two others robbed the White Jewelers on St. Charles Way of more than 50 Rolex watches, valued at $50,000.

Brewer shot at the store owner during the incident, permanently paralyzing him.

Jamell Smallwood of Allentown was sentenced to 17 years in prison for his role in the robbery. Timothy Forbes, of Allentown plead guilty and is awaiting sentcing.
