LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Mathew Morales was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday for killing a man during a drive-by shooting.
Xavier Garriga, 25, was shot in 2014 while walking on Holland Ave.
The two men had a conversation in a Turkey Hill about a “Jesus medallion” Morales was wearing prior to the shooting, according to the clerk.
Manheim Township police charged Morales with first-degree murder of Garriga.
Morales said he was an innocent man while he was sentenced to a life in prison by Lancaster County Judge Donald Totaro.
Judge Totaro said the evidence was “very compelling and overwhelming”.
Multiple people were called to the witness stand, including a man who was in the car with Morales and multiple police officers.
Detective Brian Freysz of Manheim Township filed the charges.
