Speed limits reduced on sections of Pa. Turnpike

PennDOT has temporarily reduced the speed limit on sections of the Pennsylvania Turnpike due to winter weather.

Officials said the reduced speed will be in effect on sections from the Lebanon-Lancaster Interchange to the Delaware River Bridge on I-76/I-276.

The speed limit will also be in effect from the Mid-County Interchange to the Lehigh Valley Interchange on I-476/Northeastern Extension.

Turnpike officials haven’t restricted any types of commercial vehicles but said they might do so depending on conditions.

Motorists driving in bad weather are advised to travel at safe speeds for conditions. Allow plenty of space when driving near plow trucks and never pass a truck that is actively plowing or spreading salt.
