CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Leaders providing an update on the status of a historic tavern at a council meeting in Silver Spring Township Wednesday night.

Last month, demolition was halted on a property owned by Triple Crown Corp. when it was discovered the Revolutionary War-era Bell Tavern was being torn down.

Triple Crown Corp. said it is willing to donate the building and several acres of land in exchange for rezoning of another property it owns.

The company wants to build a warehouse on the site.

The discussions are said to be very preliminary.
