Missing elderly man found

UPDATE: William A. Hersh has been located. Details about his disappearance are still unclear.


 

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are asking for the public’s help to find an elderly Cumberland County man.

William-Hersh-Seated-1-222x300William A. Hersh, 82, was last seen leaving his Upper Allen Township neighborhood around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Township police said leaving at that time of night was out of character for Hersh, who has known heart issues and has been showing signs of dementia.

Hersh was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeve dress shirt and khaki-type pants. He will most likely be wearing a gray and brown flat cap and a light brown coat with a dark brown collar.

2003_dodge_caravan_sport-300x204He was driving a light blue 2003 Dodge Caravan Sport with Pennsylvania Registration ETM-9579. The van is missing the left front wheel cover and there is a hole in the left front bumper.

Police said Hersh spent part of his life in Dallas, Pennsylvania, but it is unknown if he would try to return there. He has family in Halifax, Camp Hill and the Mechanicsburg areas.
