NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) – A key battle will be waged over deposition testimony by actor Bill Cosby as a sexual assault case against him moves forward.
A suburban Philadelphia judge Wednesday rejected the testimony of an ex-prosecutor who says he granted Cosby immunity from prosecution a decade ago. The decision allows the case to move to a March 8 preliminary hearing.
The 78-year-old Cosby was arrested in December and charged with drugging and violating a former Temple University athletic department employee in 2004.
In a civil deposition, Cosby admitted that he had affairs with young models and actresses, that he obtained quaaludes to give to women and that he gave the Temple employee three pills at his home. He said he reached into her pants but insisted it was consensual.
