Lancaster man gets up to 64 years for robbery spree

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man will spend up to 64 years in prison for a spree of armed robberies across Lancaster County.

Andrew D. Westry, 23, was sentenced Friday to 28-64 years for eight heists in six municipalities in 2014, according to a news release from the district attorney’s office.

Westry had pleaded guilty to counts of robbery, conspiracy, and illegal possession of a firearm.

Authorities said he is responsible for two armed robberies in the city, at the Getty Mart on Greenfield Road and the Family Dollar on South Duke Street, as well as six other heists in East Hempfield, East Lampeter, Manheim, Manor and West Earl townships.

He targeted convenience stores, dollar stores, a Wendy’s, and a Little Caesar’s restaurant.
