It is Groundhog Day and we have the results from the Iowa caucuses. Here is what you need to know for Tuesday, February 2:

Ted Cruz is the winner of the Iowa Republican caucuses.

Donald Trump was second and Marco Rubio was a close third.

The Iowa Democratic caucuses are neck and neck.

The race was extremely close. Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are in a virtual tie in the caucuses.

Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring.

Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog failed to see his shadow Tuesday morning. According to German legend, if a furry rodent sees his shadow on Feb. 2, winter will last an additional six weeks. If not, spring comes early. Midstaters say they are ready for spring which is not surprising after the blizzard.

Bill Cosby is due in court.

Today Cosby’s lawyers will ask a judge in Montgomery County to throw out the criminal case lodged against him. ABC27 has a crew at the courthouse and will provide updates on air and online.

An “operational glitch” killed about 1,200 fish in the Susquehanna River.

Officials at Talen Energy say an automatic shutdown of the plant’s units Saturday caused water temperatures to drop to approximately 13 degrees in one hour.
