LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Two detectives from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were patrolling the area of East Chestnut Street when they saw two men acting suspiciously outside of a Turkey Hill store.
The detectives saw one of the men enter the store and discovered that a robbery was in progress and called for assistance.
The officers confronted Joshua Ortiz and found Ortiz armed with a handgun. Police were able to take Ortiz into custody without any injuries to the clerk.

The officers were unable to find the second man who was interacting with Ortiz before the robbery. Police are investigating if the second man was involved.
Ortiz was charged with robbery. He was arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison with a bail set at $50,000.
Police said that Ortiz was found to have an outstanding warrant for a burglary that occurred on October 29th, 2015 on the 500 block of North Mary Street in Lancaster.
