The Harrisburg Heat relieved head coach Tarik Walker of his duties following a 12-5 loss at the hands of division rival Detroit at the Pa Farm Show Large Arena Saturday night in front of 2515 fans. The loss kept the Heat winless in in 13 attempts on the season and on the brink of elimination from the playoff picture.
“Tarik has had to coach under unfair circumstances the past two seasons, however we’re just not seeing the results we need and should have,” said Harrisburg Heat Owner John Wilsbach. “Our fans deserve a better product than what they are seeing. This is the beginning of a thorough self-assessment of our organization .”
Former Heat player and current assistant coach Gino Diflorio takes over the head job on an interim basis.
Walker finished with a 2-18 record last season and leaves the Heat bench with a 2-31 record.
