Icy conditions slow down crews headed to 2-alarm fire

Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire Tuesday morning and also battled winter weather.

Officials say the fire happened at a home on the 700 block of State Street in Lemoyne.

According to fire crews, it started in a second floor bedroom. No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Officials say the fire went to a second alarm because crews were slowed down by icy road conditions.

When they arrived, the hydrant was not dug out, which also caused problems.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
