Coroner ID’s body found after snowstorm in Mt. Holly Springs

MOUNT HOLLY SPRINGS, Pa. (WHTM) – The Cumberland County coroner’s office has identified the person whose body was found Sunday in a snowbank.

Lloyd McCorkel, 66, of Carlisle, was located around 9 p.m. near a Dollar General store in Mt. Holly Springs.

According to a news release, McCorkel was attempting to get snow removal equipment when his truck became stuck in the snow.

As he walked in the snow, he suffered a cardiovascular event and collapsed, authorities say.

An autopsy revealed he died of hypothermia. McCorkel reportedly had Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease which is believed to have led to his cardiovascular event.

The manner of death has been ruled accidental and is considered storm-related.
